On December 31, 2023, Catholic Family Services of Toronto will be permanently closing our North office located at 245 Fairview Mall Drive. We will continue to serve current clients, individuals on our waiting list, and members of the community by video or telephone appointments, or in person at our Central office located at 1155 Yonge Street. During this transition period, we plan to maintain our level of availability to the community, and will be seeking feedback about the alternative service delivery options including use of virtual appointments.

Offering counselling in a timely fashion to those in need is an important goal for Catholic Family Services of Toronto. We offer individual, couple, and family Quick Access – Single Session counselling. Our professional counselling staff is trained to offer Quick Access – Single Session counselling to clients who have an urgent need to speak with a counsellor.

Support in a safe space

The program focuses on providing a safe and supportive environment to abused women and their families, including those who have been sexually abused, where they can receive counselling, support, education, and information on other support services in the community.

The services are provided through individual, couple and group counselling. Assessments and service plans are jointly developed to determine the most appropriate way to provide a focused service.

New Beginnings

In partnership with the Archdiocese of Toronto, we offer the New Beginnings Program. New Beginnings is a program with a rich history of assisting separated, divorced and widowed Catholics. The program provides counselling, opportunities for reflection and spiritual guidance as part of the healing journey through day retreats, support groups and monthly inspirational talks. New Beginnings staff also assist peer support groups through training and resources. These services are offered throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto.

At the time of initial contact, our staff will help you determine if our services are appropriate to meet your needs. If we are not the right place, our staff will provide you with information about relevant services in the community.

Counselling is a two way process between you and your counsellor. The counsellor will help you to consider your situation realistically, help you identify the central problems and assist you to develop positive, achievable goals. The counsellor helps you to gain a fuller understanding of your circumstances and the ways to find solutions for your problems.

How do the people who have used your services feel about their service experience?

We regularly evaluate our services and conduct client feedback surveys at the conclusion of Agency service. A large number of former clients respond to our questionnaires and consistently provide us with a high level of positive ratings with respect to their service experience and the results achieved.
