People with disabilities have the right to use their own assistive devices to participate in the services offered by the Agency. The Agency will make every effort to ensure that all staff, students on field placement and volunteers dealing with callers, clients and visitors are trained and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by persons who have disabilities.
Examples of assistive devices include but are not necessarily limited to:
- Physical assistive devices - cane, walker, wheelchair, electric scooters
- Communicative devices - hearing devices, laptop computers, personal data assistant (PDA)
- Visual aids - magnification devices, Braille devices, white canes, glasses
- Medical assistive devices - personal oxygen tanks
